One month across China

Our work in China was a combination of business and pleasure, our personal photo report project and the assignment from Danone Communities. The adventure started in Hong Kong, where we spent some amazing days waiting for a Chinese visa. After a few trips to the Chinese Embassy, we finally got it.

Our first working day in Shanghai started in the NutriGo office, where we worked with the team to create a brief. The next days were spent in the field in Bengbu, visiting the projects and documenting the work of social business entrepreneurs and the social impact they are having. We visited medical experts as well as the local beneficiaries.  Video and photo reports were challenging due to the culture and climate. After a few days we had some amazing material and were inspired by some amazing stories.

The time flew and soon we had to leave the project and visit Baijing, to meet a professor who was one of the first people who introduced the idea of social business into China. It was interesting to listen to him and learn about malnutrition in under privileged kids in China and his about his efforts to find sustainable ways to address it.

The next few weeks in China were a blaze of colour, as we travelled and explored this great country. We learnt new things and listened to the stories of people who crossed our path.
